IN MARVEL MOVIE NEWS, Jamie Foxx has been cast as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Though Foxx himself has stated that the costume will definitely not be the green and yellow spandex with lightning bolts coming out of the head, known in the comics since the 1960’s. Said Foxx, “They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happen. Singer recently tweeted: “I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come…” Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan have already signed on. Simon Kinberg’s screenplay is reportedly heavily inspired by Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s comic book storyline that ran in Uncanny X-Men#141 and 142 back in 1981. “Days of Future Past” introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel’s mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels. And Wolverine had a pivotal role in that story. Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!” But will Samuel L. Jackson make an appearance. Jackson seems to think so, if only in brief increments. “I don’t know. I keep hearing about it, and I haven’t talked to Joss about it. But in my mind, I would tend to think that he would, if nothing else, be like Charlie in ‘Charlie’s Angels.’ At least be the voice!” … THE UK VERSION OF THE IRON MAN 3 trailer made its way to the web some time ago and is worth a look. IN STAR WARS EPISODE VII NEWS, longtime Lucasfilm, Ltd. Producer Rick McCallum has left Lucasfilm, to pursue independent film production. As for Lucas’s own part in the new trilogy, the now retired Star Wars universe creator has stated that his involvement as a consultant requires very minimal input. Said Lucas, “I mean, they have a hundred encyclopedias and things, but I actually know a lot.
